The German School was once again a guest at the German Embassy for the graduation ceremony. In the presence of Ambassador Dr. Ackermann and his counterpart from Austria Ambassador Wieser and the Bulgarian Ambassador Dr. Yankov, three students, Lorenzo De Luca, Benedikt Rist and Edgar Ruperti, were presented with their Abitur certificates this year. Dr. Ackermann had been well informed about the graduates in advance and was able to address personal words to each of the three boys. In his speech, principal Martin van Neerven emphasized the good support provided by the school, which had contributed a great deal to the excellent results achieved by the students, whose average grade was 1.73. It was then left to the class teacher, Mrs. Arens-Klein, to tell a few anecdotes from the school career of our graduates. Lorenzo, Benedikt and Edgar then had the last word themselves, and once again they demonstrated their talent for improvisation.
The festive act was musically framed by our school band under the direction of Ms. Demeyere and a piano performance by our student Ege Sunel. At the end, all guests were able to round off the dignified celebration with a lunch buffet sponsored by our parents' council.
