Hydrogen? - Hydrogen!
Not really an easy topic for the project week, but very exciting and relevant for the future: How does hydrogen really work as an energy source?
Eight students from the DSND took up this thematic challenge and familiarized themselves with the actual possibilities of this gas. The construction and operation of a hydrogen fuel cell was initially on the agenda in theory. But it was even more fun to actually drive our model car from the Kosmos experiment kit. That we succeeded to charge our little hydrogen car outside in the sun was the cherry on our project-muffin. We could later drive the car inside with the hydrogen that we obtained.
At the same time - using only waste and leftovers! - the students built a model of a hydrogen driven world of the future: emission-free, clean, green and eco-friendly.
A particular highlight was the trip to FCT Energy in Gurugram, where we were able to see fuel cells in real use. From very small, to actually only charge a cell phone, to the size of a refrigerator and then sufficient for a family home.
The studentswere at last very happy to proudly show their parents and other visitors the results of the week during the school festival.
