As a thank you for the great participation in the St. Nicholas celebration at the German Embassy, our Ambassador Dr. Ackermann brought a big St. Nicholas house for the children of the primary school on 09th December. At least for the first thirty minutes after the handover of the big sweet, the children tested their patience and presented their special Advent calendar to the Ambassador. Fully loaded with the presents which the children had handed over at the St. Nicholas party, the winners of the painting competition drove with Mr. Ackermann and our principal Mr. van Neerven across New Delhi to the school building of the Hope project. Many children were already waiting for Tiara, Anthony and Mateo and of course for the presents.
Mr. Ackermann took a lot of time to learn more about the educational and vocational training opportunities of the Hope Project. He was impressed by the motivation and achievements of the students, but also by the dedication of the teachers.
With the impression that the Hope Project does exactly what the name promises, the German delegation then left the premises very impressed. Our children also enjoyed the trip and even the Nicholas house was still untouched in the classroom when Tiara, Anthony and Mateo returned to their school.
