Why are some instruments silver and others gold? What does a trumpet player do when he has to cough during a concert? The musicians of the Swiss Brass Band always found plausible and interesting answers to these and many other questions. The Brass Band consists of over thirty musicians, twelve of whom visited the DSND on 12 September. Before the Q&A session with our children, however, the band gave a sample of their art and delighted our students and also the children of the kindergarten. Hits from Freddy Mercury to The Jungle Book made all children and teachers forget the heat of the late morning. We remembered: the golden instruments are easier to clean. So anyone who plays such an instrument is just too lazy to polish.
