The Leuschner family recently donated a piano to the DSND. A very traditional, old one, made of wood and steel, with strings, hammers and dampers and all the good purely mechanical things around it. Since then, all the students have been playing it: Look inside, move the hammers and dampers, count the strings, press the pedals and ask themselves questions about how it all works so beautifully and why you can hear notes that have not been struck at all. Learn about instruments with your eyes and ears! This is only possible on a real piano.
Thanks to the noble donor!
