Classes 9, 10 and 11 visited the Holocaust Exhibition at the Alliance Française de Delhi on January 31. The presentation was very impressive and gave an insight into the atrocities of World War II. There were many historical photos and documents that depicted the tragedy of the Holocaust.
In the auditorium a video was shown which reported, among others, on the train station Radegast in Poland from which many Jews were deported to concentration camps. The exhibition also showed the individual fates of survivors who shared their experiences and told of the strength and courage of people during this cruel time. Students from different schools visited the exhibition at the same time and wrote their messages of solidarity on small post-it notes. The exhibition was concluded by a Q&A session in which students had the chance to ask questions on the Holocaust to representatives of various diplomatic missions.
Overall, the visit was an important and moving experience. It reminded me that we must learn from history and that we must always be vigilant to ensure that something like this never happens again.
