If proof was ever needed that the DSND school community knows how to party, we definitely provided it at our annual day. As is tradition for the carnival weekend—though some stubbornly call it the "Fasching weekend"—almost all our children, teachers, parents, and guests arrived in costume, greeted by cheerful carnival songs.
Then things kicked off in quick succession: what was probably the longest carnival parade that New Delhi—or at least the Bulgarian embassy—has ever seen, rolled past the fascinated guests. There was dancing, singing, and even a pirate ship!
The school band performed original compositions, a conga line led everyone to the traditional group photo, and finally, the Flying Teachers performed once more, in a slightly new line-up but with their usual passion.
As befits a true celebration, children, parents, and school staff danced into the evening.
A wonderful party!
