Between the British and the American School in Delhi, not too far from the DSNS the Vivekananda community is located, where several working families under visibly simpler living conditions are living. If these kind of living conditions lead to an unhappy life of the women there or if they are may be even oppressed in their social structure was the interesting approach of a film project, which had been initiated by Mariela, grade 10, as a competition contribution to a democratic forum. With seven other companions of the grades 5-9 a concept has been elaborated, the main passages translated into Hindi, in the end everything had been filmed with marker, camera and audio on location over several weeks. The partners of the interviews have not always been prepared to speak officially, in general permissions had to be requested. How it looks like over there, what does daily life look like, all these contents the documentary has been put together and can now be watched on the Vimeo platform of the school.
We wish a lot of interest in watching and understanding how the life in the neighbourhood of the DSND looks like.
